Abstract

This presentation aims to give a profound insight into two projects supported by the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade: Improve Your Career Prospects and English Access Microscholarship Program. The program Improve Your Career Prospects is being carried out in Serbia this academic year. The program is intended for young, unemployed adults with the aim to enhance their career prospects and develop various skills needed for their future jobs. This ESP program is delivered online via the learning platform Canvas. As for the English Access Microscholarship Program, the author will present the program and talk about the pedagogical background of this learning-by-doing, project-based and inquiry-based program, the infusion of the 21st century skills into traditional learning, and other benefits for our students. The Regional English Language Office and the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade support these programs, and the author intends to talk about the benefits of the U.S. government-sponsored programs in Serbia.

Biography

Nenad Miladinović holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from Belgrade State University and has vast experience in teaching English as a foreign language to students at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. He has published a considerate number of research papers and presented his research at international and national linguistic conferences. He is also the author of several accredited professional development programs and has worked as a teacher trainer and mentor for almost 10 years. He also works as an educational consultant for the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development.
