The workshop will discuss how science experiments can support language learning and acquisition as well as cognitive development both online and face-to-face. The main part of the workshop is interactive and includes learning how to select suitable experiments for language learners, demonstrating simple science experiments, and helping students who cannot read follow the simple instructions by using a poster with functional vocabulary related to experiments. The final part of the presentation is reserved for creating a scientific model.
How can science experiments support language acquisition?
Milica Vukadin holds a B.Ed. (Early Childhood Education), with double minors – one in TEYL and another in Serbian language teaching methodology for VYL. She is currently completing her Master’s thesis on the topic of environmental education with YL.
Milica has been working fully online for many years now, and she is currently working as a teacher trainer for Primera, Slovenia and Gallery Teachers, UK, and she recently launched her own online language school, ELLoquent, that focuses on language workshops for young learners.
Her interests include environmental education, interculturalism, storytelling, distance learning, WordPress website design, and creating educational materials.
In her free time, she writes semi-academic articles and makes ESL materials for her website Alice in Methodologyland and British Council Teaching English.
